Description:

Holm carved the limestone bear on the west side of the new civic auditorium, which features a slightly uplifted head, rather than the straightforward stare seen on the bear on the east side, which is the work of Robert Cronbach, a former student of Holm's. The bear figures are in reference to the bear in Missouri's state seal.
