The subject of over twenty-five soloexhibitions throughout Europe and abroad, Greco hasreceived many awards, and is represented in a number of important collections.

This is one of the seven large Bathers whichare among the major works of Emilio Greco, one of the 20th century's mostdistinguished Italian artists. He gained international acclaim at the 1956Venice Biennale for one of his statues in the Bather series. This figure is rougher and less feminine than the Greco housed in the Missouri Botanical Gardens, but no less energetic and dynamic.
