Exciting public art in the Chesterfield area.
The Clayton Art Commission in conjunction with the City of Clayton serves as the organizational lead for a consortium of ten community arts organizations that are pleased to sponsor the St. Louis Public Art Curriculum Kit. The partners include: Arts in Transit, Chesterfield Arts, Clayton Art Commission, City of Saint Louis, Grand Center Inc., Laclede's Landing Foundation, Laumeier Sculpture Park, Saint Louis University, Schmidt Art Center/Southwestern Illinois College, and University City Arts and Letters Commission. We hope that the curriculum suggestions in the Kit will focus students' attention on specific public art works; provide motivation for deep engagement in all content areas; generate community interest and support for art; and inspire young artists who might someday produce a work of public art themselves.
