Applicants should call the RAC office before completing the application to discuss their proposals and budgets.

All applications must be completed and submitted online. For the Deadline for Revised Grant Applications, paper copies must be delivered to the RAC office.

SECTION A - ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

An organization must be incorporated as nonprofit with the Missouri Secretary of State and have federal tax-exempt status to be eligible for funding. Enclose a copy of the certificate of incorporation (State of Missouri) and IRS determination of tax-exemption letter.


SECTION B - APPLICATION INFORMATION

Select the category and discipline for your application. Enter the contact information for the person who is most knowledgeable about this program.


SECTION C - PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This summary description, including the organizations primary goal, will be expanded upon in Section F. This section will appear on the front page of the application, therefore it is important to make the summary as complete and descriptive as possible. Also enter the number of artists involved.


SECTION D - ORGANIZATION / DEPARTMENT FISCAL HISTORY

Expense and revenue figures. If the requesting group is part of a parent organization, (i.e., department of a college or university, or a specific program of a larger organization) provide information on the subgroup or department applying.


SECTION E - DIVERSITY ASSESSMENT

Use the information from your last completed grant year to specify the number and diversity of your audience, education / outreach participants, personnel and board.


SECTION F - PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND TIMETABLE

Program Support Applicants - Describe your program, personnel involved, target audience, and how RAC funds will be used. Address each of the Review Criteria. Programs must occur between June and May.

Operating Support Applicants - Describe your organizations overall progress in the last year and your plans for the next two years. Describe your program(s), date(s), location(s), personnel involved, and target audience. Address the Operating Support Review Criteria

Consortiums - If you are applying as a consortium (with two other organizations), please address the following criteria in your narrative:

  • the purpose of the consortium, including concrete, attainable goals/objectives, shared vision, and a unique purpose
  • each consortium member's role(s) and responsibilities
  • resources which include sufficient funds and a designated convener
  • the decision-making process
  • the evaluation plan which includes process evaluation and results evaluation
  • a demonstration of how evaluation is built into the program

Public Art - If you are applying for public art support in Program Support I, II or III, please respond to the following questions in your narrative:

  • Describe the planning process for this project. Who is (or will be) involved? Provide a detailed timeline for the project.
  • Describe the artist selection process. Attach a copy of your Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • How is the community involved in the selection of artwork? What community education activities are planned?
  • Describe the evaluation process for the project.

SECTION G - SUCCESSES AND CHALLENGES OF YOUR ORGANIZATION

Describe the successes the organization has had and challenges that the organization faces. This section provides an opportunity to convey additional information such as long and short range plans, and development efforts.


SECTION H - RESPONSES TO PANEL RECOMMENDATIONS AND STIPULATIONS

If the organization received a formal Recommendation or Stipulation with its previous grant from the Commission, it must be addressed in this section.


SECTION I - EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Describe your educational programs from your most recently completed grant year (June-May).


SECTION J - BUDGET SUMMARY

  • Round all figures to the nearest dollar.
  • In-kind refers to the value of services or materials donated to your organization by volunteers or outside parties at no cash cost to the applicant. Professional donated services should be valued at the professional's standard rate. All other donated time should be valued at the federal minimum wage. Please do not include indirect costs.
Program Support Applicants
  • The grant request may not exceed two-thirds (2/3) of the total cash expense of the program.
  • If requesting funds for more than one program, expenses and the grant request must be broken out for each program and indicated in the component section.
Operating Support Applicants
  • Operating Support I grants may not exceed one-third (1/3) of the total cash expense of the program.
  • Operating Support II grants may not exceed one-half (1/2) of the total cash expense of the program.
